Analysis of The voice, the bird and I

I pilled my sins to a great big mount, upon the top I lost the count

Atop the mount a voice did say, now pile it higher and live each day

A glass of wine, a thrust of lust, a smoke then followed, his words I trust

He bid me higher the voice did call, look not now downward or you may fall

Higher and higher the voice did say, I pilled and pilled along the way

Rivers of wine did I consume, a million thrusts or I presume, vast fields of weed i must assume

The voice then danced and sang aloud, Tis not to far to reach the cloud

Care now not mate and follow me, like Jack did scale the big bean tree

Behold my man our beautiful mount, we live but once so make it count

Cast now then care and mind aside, and make your lust your virgin bride

Drained and drunk with all the work, I paused to think the voice a jerk

Suddenly a bird did come to rest, upon my arm then on my chest

The bird did chirp and i did hear, the bird could talk i thought it queer

Listen not to that voice the bird did say, he'll leave you lost along the way, the voice in you has gone astray

He bids you fill your heart and fill, but he does surely bid you ill

Now hearken to my whispered word, your heart can speak as if a bird

So cast aside his voice that clown, and come with me I'll lead you down

The bird did lead and I did follow, the voice did scream in pain and sorrow

Beneath the mount the bird did fly, and winked at me across the sky

The voice now spoke and he did say, let's pile on higher the very next day
