Analysis of In The Shadows

Leroy Trail 1974 (Kentucky)

Standing in the shadows
With broken wings;
Silently, this angel sings
Her voice becomes the wind
Gentle and soft
Standing in the darkness
She feels so lost
Tears are the only warmth
This angel feels
Wounded, broken
Desires to be healed
The shadow breaks
which held her captive
There is a shimmer of light
upon her path
Wings spread out
Her voice, now rings
Once held in darkness
Rejoicing, and praising
this angel happily sings
Once a victim of darkness
A victor instead
This beautiful angel
Escaped the clutches of death
