Analysis of So loud you could hear a twig SNAP

There were times i screamed so loud for you

My voice was trapped in hell it’s true

You might as well have been dead then

And taken me with you

My voice was something only i could hear

Screaming so loud you could hear a twig snap

I forgot that my feelings mattered

And it lead me down a dark path

I wonder if you would have taken action

Would i have demanded more

Better? Would i have not wasted damaging my soul

You saw it was violent and awful

Out of control

You bunkered down like it was just another storm to endure

Master of keeping candles handy

Extinguishers in sight

Never knowing when it might be the final fight

The final night

It probably didn’t seem like life or death to you

But you weren’t 3 feet tall and scared of mirrors and shadows

And belts and screams

You didn’t sleep half awake with nightmares in place of dreams

You went to church and expected me to believe the stories were true

But God never saved me

Just like he never saved you
