Analysis of Fervor
Adjekawen A. Jeremiah 1998 (Delta State, Nigeria)
Put me in chains, Caution!
Put me in chains
As if drunk from the potion of Mania;
The spell in your fragrance
A handiwork of an enchantress.
Put me in chains!
Off, the candle, put it,
Nearer to you, pull me;
Lend me your shoulder awhile,
For I crave the scent of your hair.
The fire ablaze in my loins
The whole of Nile can quench not;
Put out, how do I, this volcano?
Let's get, through the night, entangled
That nothing else can part us.
Down the cradle, push me,
Onto thy heaven, fallin',
Knit thy nest as we frolic,
Lure me into it;
Wrap me in love's cocoon!
Lips upon lips,
Skin upon skin,
Hearts racing faster;
Chant love's incantation!
Hands like cuffs,
Silk for skin,
Lips like poison;
kind eyes as death!
It's hard to breathe,
while our tulips struggles.
It's hard to leave,
while yet, our body entwines.
I really thirst of you,
I know you crave me too.
I really b'long with you,
I know you know it's true.
Let me liquify you into a goblet
And drink you all at ago!
Cover! Curtains cover!
Hide us! Windows, hide us!
The day have come to stay
The sun and all its ray.
