Analysis of concerning grief

a burning weight
gnawing on what is left of you

requiem
at every subtle detail
the dimples on a stranger's smile,
the way the breeze collects, loose debris
the numb sense at any other thought
surrounded requiem

elastic love and memories
violently snap around in your soul
flashes of these moments
along with the torture of knowing,
its over

you, a walking spillover of their memory
tangible evidence of their identity
the ultimate appreciation of life,
the lack of theirs
