Analysis of I would like it back

Tony 1998 (Glasgow)

There is something I have you
Long ago
You take it with you
Wherever you go

I've tried to go on
With a missing piece
But existence feels tighter
With no release

I would like it back
To complete my soul
And carry on
Peaceful and whole

As time goes on
I realise
It is mines no more
To my demise

As it pains me to accept
I know it is true
My heart will forever
Belong to you

About this poem

Just a short poem I wrote whilst on a boat getting battered by storms on the North Sea :)
