Analysis of The Battle Within

Look into my soul, you'll see a devil deep inside of me
Tearing up my spirit as the darkness lays down its decree
Lost in my own mind, I'm on a journey to find my way out
Every twist and turn adds one more layer to my growing doubt

As the unknown comes at me, I flinch but keep on pushing through
Turning back with fearfulness would only bring me deja vu
Beating back the demons as I charge into uncertainty
Only with conviction can I ever hope to be set free

When it all is over, I can only dream to win my war
Wishing without knowing that I'll find out what I escaped for
Releasing haunting emptiness to end up far from this black hole
Lay to rest my worries and embrace the peace within my soul
