Analysis of Pet

I want a pet
It will not get you wet
I don’t want a cat
It isn’t a bat
It won’t put us into debt
I’ve already picked him we when we met
He is friendly he isn’t a threat
I’m not asking for a rat
I want a pet
I’ll take him to the vet
It will be easy, I won’t even sweat
He isn’t very fat
I’ll take care of him, you can trust me on that
At least I'm not asking for a jet
I want a pet
