Analysis of Wilted

When they see me wilt they think I’m dying
In reality, I am only aging

As they forget to rearrange me and pass by me without a smile, I know I’m about to be replaced

But I am okay with that
For I have done my duty and I’m ready to move on

I had stool tall, color and all
I had blossomed - that was their favorite part to see

They loved my aroma, for it reminded them of love and beauty
Those were the things that once represented me

Now that I have started to droop and my colors dull, they start to move away from me as if I were nothing at all
But as I said before, and I’ll say it again, I am okay with that

For it is my duty as a rose to have brought them joy in their lives
And I did
Therefore, I shall continue to wilt until I die

The next rose that replaces me will make them happy in ways that I no longer could
And I am okay with that
