Analysis of Pure Love

Lorraine Marion Sager 1956 (Ontario)

It is the love of your child
that is so pure,
A love that is forever true.
It is the love of your child
of which you are sure,
a love that is the only cure.
The cure for loneliness,
the cure for being sad.
The cure that keeps you
forever glad.
And when her voice you hear,
you are never alone.
As I hold her near.
She is the part of my heart,
that when born is separate,
but never apart.
You, Rosanna,
are what makes each breath worthwhile;
and cheers my thoughts
to make me smile.

About this poem

This is a poem about my daughter, Rosanna. I was not supposed to be able to have a child. I was blessed with her!
