Analysis of The Promise

Your gallant gallop framed with silent stars.
Back and forth you shape your graceful dance.
It's like the lion's stroll,
Amid the screeching primates.

The moon casts a spotlight,
Prancing, gently trotting,
To the cricket's serenade.
Applauding.

Your tresses twirl in the wind,
Slapping against your long, luring neck.
Reminds me of a special time.
My youthful hands clasped to your mane.

Chills ran through me,
As we scampered off to the rolling creek.
Racing over rigid rocks.
Like the arrow bouncing from the bow.

Remember that night?
Lavender bushes pleased us so.
I whispered sweet sounds,
Only for you to hear.

Peering into your stoic stare,
You whinnied back to me,
As I stroked your silky strands.
You promised never to tell!

About this poem

I see majesty in horses and so I decided to try to capture that in a poem.
