Analysis of Fear

Title: Fear
Author: Ninochka D'Souza

Born without fear
We take our first steps
Falling without fear
A million times we leapt

Climbing without fear
Every staircase we conquered
Running without fear
Through fields of grass we wandered

For fear is learned
When pain is felt
Or a parent teaches us
That all is not well

When safety is taken
We all become afraid
Lost love and grief awaken
Fears like pain from a blade

For some fears are needed
So we trod with care
While others are defeated
When we become self-aware
