Analysis of Elegantly, She Left

Adegbembo Sam 1968 (Sapele)

Twenty twenty-two is a great year
It may be too complicated to bear
A lot has been heard and also seen
But none like the funeral of the Queen
The most celebrated
To some, hated
All in all it was an amazing Monday
Hundreds of powers came from far away.

She reigned for three scores and ten
With such greatness too much to pen
I am black but not black now
All you can do is ask me how
I won't frown on the crown in her death
We didn't act when she was in rude health
Let's not mourn with a fault
She's now lying in the Vault.
