Analysis of Ava

Ashes slowly embrace the lake
As dawn begins to break
Remnants of once a living soul
Discovered the art of letting go
    Her name was Ava
    Prima ballerina
    Entire universe on her toes
    Delicate beauty like a rose
    A figure radiating elegance
A dream in just a glance
    Sparkling eyes that softly speak
Chords of music that we seek
She danced her heart out so great
It even reached the heaven's gate
An intricate bow delivered on stage
Out of the blue, just turn the page
On that vague chilly night
In the street with flickering light
She felt earth snaps on its axis
After a long day of practice
Woke up in hospital out of breath
Body trembling with cold sweats
Exhausting event as she remembered
Then suddenly her days are numbered
Frail eyelids connect for her to see
    Her most marvelous memory
    Whispers of familiar melody
    Ice cold breeze of melancholy
    Gentle movements of fragile fingers
    Fearless freedom that still lingers
Wrath of emotions on her lacy dress
Undying quest for a lost caress
It was a piece about a tragic love
An outcry of pain direct above
    Heartbreaks shown in every step
Swift graceful turns with unknown depth
If only she knew that time
She's close to her finish line
No doubt she'll use that chance
    To create an endless dance
Her name was Ava
Prima ballerina
She could've been a perfect dancer
But met her demise because of cancer.

About this poem

This poem represents the unspoken words, neither said nor heard. Because no words can describe the pain that cancer can inflict and the lost lives it brings along with it.
