Analysis of From loss (Grief) to Death
Azukile Hlomla Jali 2002 (Engcobo)
One body buried, yet many are left shattered. Just like lightning striking a tree, havoc is not only caused on the surface it goes far beyond the stem reaching for the roots.
Like a terrorist invading a foreign land, everything is left in shambles.
The only thing that remains is the deadly silence carried by the screaming wind.
Imperceptible being, crawling in like a friend so that people can welcome you in their homes in their homes. In order for you to rip them apart when they least expect it.
Many homes have turned into ghost towns.
I would compare that to the body of those affected by the tragic news. Many souls die from receiving the news,
Many die when the casket drops.
The only thing left is wounds that heal on the outside but continue to bleed inside.
Like a bomb that just hit the ground loud hailing follows, accompanied by disturbing silence as though you have just been robbed off your voice.
The loss of a loved one is like entering a forest without a guide, the only thing you have is hope to make it to the other end unharmed. But the true reality is that only the body continues the journey in search for peace.
The soul is far gone from its cage like a bird that has been longing to escape.
Pale houses with blood red windows as a display of scenes that continue to play inside.
Shredded hearts, growing glassy eyes like windows that just got cleaned.
The only difference is these windows tell a tale even the most wicked wizard cannot handle.
Oh Death, my trusted friend.
Though you see the depth of my wounds every time you visit, you still look me in the eyes and fool me with words of hope that this time things will be different.
Yet you never fail to take away a part of me.
No matter the amount of time I spend preparing for you.
No matter how wide I stretch my arms and open my heart to you, the ending is always the same. How greedy and ungrateful you are my friend.
Oh Death, rejoice finally you have ripped me off my last breath.

From loss grief to death is about the pain that pain that comes with a loved one or someone close. It is about how many souls are dying inside while the body remains functional.
