Analysis of America’s Danger From Authoritarianism and Disinformation

All dangerous signs
Nations must take notice of
And be prepared to counter.
Authoritarianism.
How it festers as a poison.

As a bed partner
Of hegemonic ruling
It is dangerous.
To various forms of freedom.
Oriented towards ego.

Utterly selfish,
It feeds on aggrandizement.
Nothing else matters
But what feeds its desires
Without concern for others.

Disinformation
Is a disease of ego.
It is cancerous,
Eating at the human soul;
all for absolute ruling.

Hegemonic rule.
Obedience at the risk of
Personal freedom.
Authoritarian rule;
Without concern for others.

Ego magnified.
A ruler as potentate.
No one else matters.
A form of dictatorship;
All others subordinate.

The running slogan.
Is “Total Authority.”
Egomania
Or Megalomania;
A power without limits.

Power absolute.
A leader’s autocracy.
Nothing else matters.
Followers are mere children;
Who need to be disciplined.

Absolute control.
Is this form of government.
People are puppets.
Must follow authority;
Or otherwise must perish.

Feedback is fearsome.
Punishment for feigned misdeeds.
Rules are unwritten.
They come from spoken mandates;
Follow blindly and obey.

Be seen, but not heard.
To question is dangerous.
Silence is golden.
Corporal punishment in vogue;
Just one way, or the highway.

Without compromise.
Positive reinforcement.
Becomes a taboo.
Counter to the rule of law;
Authoritarian law.

Disinformation.
Is intended to mislead.
As propaganda.
Issued by some governments;
By nature, ego-governed.

It courts deception.
All kinds of fabrication.
A friend of fake news.
Filled with trumped-up stories;
Manipulated system.

Disinformation.
A form of intelligence.
That feeds on rumors.
Is dangerous politics;
Its aim is to hide the truth.

Disinformation .
Armed with covert objectives.
Manufactures lies.
To maintain evil power;
With democracy postponed.

Hegemonic rule.
Rife with disinformation.
Has its own profit motive.
Co-opts media;
And suspends democracy.

Combined as systems.
To disregard the people.
Disinformation.
Allied with ruling by fear;
Is far from democracy.

The time is now ripe.
Americans must wake up.
Become vigilant.
Signs of danger are lurking;
Democracy endangered.

The people must speak.
They must make their voices heard.
To turn back deceit.
Our liberties to preserve;
To restore America.

Lord, protect our nation.
As home of the free and brave.
Rule of the people.
For, and by all the people;
Liberty, Justice for all.

About this poem

Described historically and traditionally as a democracy, the American form of government is more correctly described as a Republic or, better stated, a constitutional republic, depicted by James Madison as an “Extended Limited Commercial Federal Democratic Republic,” with powers preserved and maintained by a government of the people, for the people, and by the people; hence, ultimately, a social democracy, and not a governmental autocratic democracy. James Madison Junior, American statesman, diplomat, and Founding Father, served as the fourth president of the United States of America from 1808 until 1817. It is this Madisonian type of democracy in our latter days of the twenty first century that is being challenged, being threatened, by the danger of authoritarian ruling and by the propaganda of vicious disinformation. America as a nation must wake up from the onslaught of propaganda and deception to ensure the preservation of government of the people, for the people, and by the people. From an historical perspective, it is noteworthy to mention that in 1792 both Thomas Jefferson and James Madison founded the joint Democratic-Republican Party. Additionally, Jefferson, Madison, and James Monroe (1758-1831) hold the distinction as being the only Democratic-Republicans ever to have become U. S. Presidents, the party thereafter dividing into competing factions in the 1820s, and maintaining as well as perpetuating a legacy of bitter rivalries and divisiveness that continues today, and even at times to the point of placing America at the precipice of authoritarian rule. Collectively, as democrats, republicans, and independents, we must all work together to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America, scripted as one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. God Bless America!
