Analysis of Forgiving? Or does the monkey stay?
Douglas Blair 1951 (London)
Is it that I have forgiven
Incidents long since been past
Hurts from a friend
Insults to end
Peace that I thought
Long would last.
Had I mistaken his meaning
Had I been troubled elsewhere
Did I foul up
Choose the Wrath’s cup
Misted these thoughts
From the past.
No, I resolve to do better
Weighty this bitter
Retained
Take a fresh start
Dry clean the Heart
Joyful the Peace
Regained.
Simply a better spin
Put on some words.
What I had heard
Unstained.
