Analysis of Ego

He took a match from his pocket, and burnt our old house to the ground. He brushed its ashes into the wind along with his vanity. In order that we may start again.
He left his self-pride at the door, in order to love better, love more.
The day he put the ring on my finger, he took a spade out into the woods.
He buried his ego 6 ft deep. The soil he covered it with was so rich in love and devotion that only the MOST beautiful saplings could grow from its nutrients.
In all my life it was the first time I'd ever experienced faith.
You are the closest I've ever been to a god.
Our love is the closest I have ever been to heaven,
Sacred, serving, devout.
He takes no pride in the divide between sexes.
He honours me.
It's a secret totally lost on others-
There's no weakness in true devotion,
Only power.

I write poems to process really. I have no form/training/knowledge on poetry, I just find once I've put pen to paper, whatever thoughts I have are able to fly away and leave me be! more…
