Analysis of As Old As You Feel.

Ageless is time
time and time again
like an unseen hand
pointing ahead
looking behind,
reminding you to push ahead
ignore wild nostalgia
wishing you were
a little younger.
For god's sake man
look straight ahead
ignore the whispering
from the back of your head.
You came this far
stop mumbling about age
you are as old as you feel.
Yes I admit it is a trifle naive
but it serves a purpose
like a Donkey and a Carrot
stops you feeling ruddy worthless,
so push ahead
time is just a ruler
do not allow yourself to be ruled by time,
remember when you started this journey
your eyes were on the goal
so ignore the whispering
you are never too old.

About this poem

Time has a way of writing you off, telling you to slow down, which makes it pretty pointless that you ever started your journey.
