Analysis of Christmas vs. Time

Children know it's almost time for,
Santa Claus, Rudolph, Frosty, and more;
They see all the ads on T.V. for this and that,
Barbie, Ninja Turtles, a walking puppy, or a ball and bat.

The lists have all been made and Santa letters sent out,
Maybe a few weeks--chores will be done without a pout.
Waiting is all there is left to do,
For kids waiting is worse than the flu.

It's time now--Santa has come and gone,
The kids, to excited for sleep, are all up at dawn;
Mom, Dad, come see, Santa's been here,
So many presents, "Which is mine?" is the united cheer.

The gifts are opened, paper thrown here and there,
Cars, trucks, dolls, games, books, and a big stuffed teddy bear;
Clean up the mess, fix a big breakfast, and the kids go play,
They'll be busy and as good as gold the rest of the day.

Now that it's over, we can put the kids to bed,
Time to relax, put your feet up, next round is 364 days ahead.
