Analysis of Scaled Terrors Burning
Douglas Blair 1951 (London)
They came from the bowels
Underground
Subway link closed and sourced
In ancient deep watercourse.
Incubating mighty long
And developing into
Monstrous scaled
Proportion.
Breathing fire.
Incinerating everywhere.
Humans or defense
As we knew it
Infrastructures
Vehicles, crops.
Artillery.
All expended hopes
For response
And resistance.
No resistance honestly.
All major cities fell.
Crowds scurried to hinterlands.
Like rats.
Prayers.
Shelters down deep.
Security drills rehearsed.
Hoping the day would never
Come
Dragons.
Mystical worldwide villains. And crafty
The legends everywhere.
Trustworthy.
The illustrations
Not overmuch.
