Analysis of Prayers Made Differently
Douglas Blair 1951 (London)
Prayers different now
Less of petition upon petition
Thanks upon thanks
Wonder after wonder
Pleas for others’ needs.
Praise adding to praise.
These were all good.
But perhaps too much
Jaw flapping and
Me, me, me.
Obstructing the us, us, us.
Might I quiet down?
Start with I love you Dad
Would meditation be so bad?
Thoughts and waiting
Rather than narrating
And we see reverently
What you bring to the table.
Comforts.
Directions.
Corrections.
Connections.
Whispers from out of Left Field.
Communion’s yield.
A being together
In all sorts of weather.
Yeah, You would like that
I believe.
