Analysis of Losing you

just like my temper, our time together was far too short
fuses stay lit and the fire burns rapidly closer to explosion
wondering why separation comes faster than your return
I race to catch it but I feel I'm too late
you're slipping away while my grip climaxes to its peak
fatigue sets in and my strength starts to fade
losing you is not an option in my mind
internal conflicts I battle with every breath taken
your voice seems to become more faint
now reaching with both hands and arms extended
I see fear in the distance but I ignore it
I hear silence as I strain to hold on
I smell smoke as the fuse fades away in the fire
in the commotion my memory comes in to play
remembering moments spent together
cursing times spent apart
I should kiss you
I should have kissed you
I shouldn't lose you
I can't lose you
yet my embrace weakens
how can I keep you
my heart is the space for you
there I will keep you
against my will you depart from me
into space I stare
future actions are unknown
happiness is no longer certain
memories come back into play
wishful thinking sets in
the next day arrives
and tomorrow I wish was the start of yesterday
