Analysis of Reaching Heaven
As she breathed her last breath
She showed me her Heaven
She was so vibrant and young
No longer sixty-seven
Her family was with her
Loved ones long gone
In their warm embraces
She knew she was home
Children ran amok
Laughter, a joyous sound
This place was now home
Love was all around
Her children will miss her dearly
This beautiful soul they call mom
This woman with love so deep
In their hearts she is never gone
Just as she’d done her whole life
She is watching over us now
In her Little Heaven
Nothing makes her frown
All of us still living
She wants us all to know
She has reached her Heaven
It’s time to let her go
She knows it will be hard
But she knows we are all strong
Grieve, she says with love in her eyes
But know she is never gone
The world lost a great woman today
A soul so full of love
She is now free of her body
She has reached her Heaven Above

About this poem
This poem came from my heart, but I also believe it came from my mother. This was written directly after her passing.
