Analysis of The Cloud
I get trapped in my mind,
The prison bars locked tight.
Alone with my thoughts I'm confined,
Unable to escape the eternal fight.
I reach for help,
But it isn't there.
Noone can save me from myself,
But does anyone even care?
I struggle, then I fail.
The crippling exhaustion sets in,
With a numbing sensation I exhale.
Hearing the voices my head starts to spin.
As the blade cuts the surface,
The release courses through my veins,
Pressing deeper with an oppressed rage and purpose,
Only temporarily breaking the chains.
Quiet and alone,
In the darkness I sit,
Carved to the bone,
Caressing every slit
These wounds gape open,
But I don't want to heal.
Shattered and broken,
The burn reminds me to feel.
Such a physical toll,
Just to vacate the mind.
I relinquish my soul,
To leave everything behind.
This pain I can take,
To stop the torment.
The emotions I can't fake,
This anguish I must vent.
Oh but the blood starts to congeal,
As the holes close shut.
Again my mind beings to reel
And the knots reform in my gut.
And so, the cycle repeats.
The voices get loud,
And my energy depletes.
I disappear into the psychological cloud.
