Analysis of To: Belle From: Beast

I'm writing this to you, sweet Belle
With hopes that you will see
What's on the inside of my soul
And what you mean to me.

The world just sees me as a beast
But I am so much more
I haven't always been like this
I was like you before.

I used to be a handsome prince
With plates and cups of gold
But all the treasures I possessed
Just made my heart grow cold.

An elder lady came to me
For shelter from the rain
She offered me a single rose
I laughed and spoke profane.

She said she'd give me one more chance
I still turned her away
That's when she changed into a witch
And cursed me on that day.

She gave me till I'm 21
To find someone to love
But she must also love me too
I prayed to God above.

Before too long I gave up hope
And then I found your dad
I locked him in the dungeon here
Not caring he was sad.

That's when you found him that next day
And said you'd take his place
I saw the sweetest part of you
That's written on your face.

You are the first girl I have met
Who lives a life so clean
Without a doubt you are the most
Angelic human being.

Now as these weeks have passed us by
I've felt a sudden change
And it has left me quite confused
And feeling rather strange.

No longer am I led by hate
My anger's mainly gone
I often think about your face
When I am up at dawn.

I cannot tell you how to feel
Just know these words are true
It just was time to let you know
That I'm in love with you.
