Analysis of Quiet exchange of faces…

After forty minutes of
Catch-up talk.
We pause, on this bench.
Sun shining in late March.
Cardinal heralds at work.
With water-pipe clarity of song.
Neither speaks.
Just looking, one to the other.
Studying features of face.
Valiantly retained over the years.
Laughter, tears
And all that we shared
As a couple, an item.
Back in those college years.
Never quite getting down
To the rapt consummation.
And where are you living now?
Chicago, husband, three kids.
That must be nice.
Here visiting relatives.
And me, oh well, Barb
Passed away three years back.
Son Jack in the Marines.
And posted.
I Retired from C.A. work
When Barb got sick.
Getting out more now.
Ah, Ginny how did this happen?
