Analysis of 45
The great American experiment took form,
Yet Washington himself forewarned,
Beware of men unprincipled and cunning,
Subverting the will of the people by running,
So when forty-four made fun of five,
A scammer showman came alive,
It started as a well timed joke,
The threat still stands, an oxen’s yoke,
One fastened by tyrannical hands,
Thanks to a feckless
thin skinned man,
Who soon became the populist choice,
Under guidance of a right wing voice,
That voice they thought could control the man,
With a deft, deliberate but delicate hand,
With no clue in policy or the law,
Allegiance and fealty he used to draw,
But alas they soon lost all control,
Through his mastery of hyperbole,
And as his bombastic lies spewed out,
Some of his party began to doubt,
But tyranny is not just a relative term,
From his offspring we soon would learn,
Siphoning millions of earmarked funds,
Donated specifically for political runs,
A family spreading viral rot,
Via malicious media slots,
Grifters of the highest order,
Accepting cash from any border,
Fast forward Impeachment one and two,
And even after an attempted coup,
Not many braved a frontal attack,
Privately the party didn’t have his back,
But It doesn't count if its under you breath,
Power over principle foreshadows death,
Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pot,
At least historians have not forgot,
Tyrants aren’t just handed reigns,
They’re aided, abetted by campaigns,
Silent condemnation by political voice,
Is constitutionally dangerous and a cowardly choice,
These eroders of trust must be held to task,
If democracy has a chance to last,
Who are these people who consistently lie?
A partial list, I supply with a sigh,
Remember the scene of the running man,
Exiting the capital as fast as he can,
Or who could forget space laser lady,
Poster child for bat shit crazy,
Or the rolled up sleeves of Mr. Benghazi,
He fits right in with Russian backed Stasi,
Then theres that southern sham,
No offence, I love green eggs and ham,
And what about mister weathervane,
Changing his tune as if its a game,
Didn’t take a stand, nor make a fuss,
When his war hero ally was tossed under the bus,
Officials like these will only appease,
Destroying institutions like a cancerous disease,
So moderate citizens please take note,
It’s the authoritarian hand that eliminates votes,
Our democratic world will not survive,
Another bout of Forty-five.
