Analysis of Trials and Tribulations

Kayla Nichols 1987 (Texas)

Trials and Tribulations

Cliché, isn’t it? This thing called life.
Bound and broken, captivated by strife.
Struggle congested faithful being,
Proudly smiling while internally bleeding.

Obligations pounding on the door.
Metaphorically comatose… lethargic to the very core.
Adversaries overpowering to prevail,
Deliberating submission, surrendering to fail.

The darkness of the clouds grows impenetrable.
Though the conviction of self-existence burns undeniable.
The shadows begin to disorient my mind,
My inner strength I shall seek to find.

As flickers of reason rekindle so slightly,
The hands of angels grab my spirit tightly.
Beams of sunshine begin to replenish my heart,
As I feel malevolence descend and the demons depart.

I remember being intertwined in life’s trials and tribulations,
Transpiring our very own values and aspirations.
Ever faithful one must remain, tried and true,
To our Lord and Savior, as he shall shepherd us through.
