Analysis of Mature Faith
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
His divine power has granted,
All things that do pertain to life;
And through Him has been enchanted,
In combatting toils and strife.
He has granted great promises,
Through knowledge and glory of Him;
And always fair in the justices,
So have no fear of feeling grim.
You may share the divine nature,
Fleeing from sinful desire;
By becoming a new creature,
You spiritually acquire.
Supplement your faith with virtue,
As knowledge and wisdom is derived;
Which will help your mind to construe,
That the results will be contrived.
For the knowledge will bring patience,
And patience will you godliness;
As love enters in your conscience,
As brotherly kindness will bless.
These qualities are increasing,
Being fruitful through Jesus Christ;
Through the knowledge is unceasing,
Avoiding you to be enticed.
If you lack these you become blind,
Forgotten cleansing of your sin;
Because of a corrupted mind.
Holding unto of what has been.
Be more diligent to confirm,
Your calling in your election;
Spiritually for the long term,
To have a divine connection.
You will be richly provided,
To reach the eternal kingdom;
The Holy Spirit has guided,
To the Savior with His wisdom.
