Analysis of Bird on the shoulder…Shopping.
Told me that the little guy
Was six years.
Beautiful shades of blue.
Spots of emerald
On head and breast.
About starling size.
Man was simply
Wandering, searching
For some hardware item.
Bird would NOT FLY OFF.
Jostle some inventory.
Not frightened, just smart.
Enjoying closeness, warmth
Of the low-voiced Buddy.
And Feeder.
(Even bits of cracker now.)
No sudden movements.
Everybody giving reasonable
Breathing space.
Asking happy questions.
Joking about the Pirate Ship
And Captain Jack Sparrow.
With that steady examining
Avian eye on the lookout.
