Analysis of 1

There is one poet
who does an about-face
in the eyes of ones and zeros.

Whether the white
or the black,
he finds solace
in coloured living.

The eyes, stomach,
kidneys and knees
all see together.
They thankfully rise
to things. Full and ripe
with feeling and gratitude.

The fight is just not there.
It begins and ends with
a natural, ignominious,
courage -
To see things as they are.

Somehow I appreciate 1,
and not zero.
