Analysis of An Ocean of Tears

John Kassel 1947 (Phoenixville, PA)

An ocean of tears

In the aftermath of yet
Another school shooting,
Waves of grief and pain
Wash over us.
A tidal wave of sorrow
Engulfs everything in its path.
We are lost in a sea of despair,
Searching for a life raft
To keep us from drowning
In an ocean of tears.
