Analysis of The Message
Dawn Renee Hill 1973 (Panama City, Florida)
Awoken from a dream, I was covered in sweat.
With a pain in my heart, like i’d come back from death
I’d dreamt of torment and an insatiable need…
A longing, a hunger, and unable to breathe.
I was in a river of fire, all around me, disaster.
Hellions and demons doubled over in laughter.
People were crying, Screaming out in pain.
I tried to help them. My attempts were in vain.
Each time i tried, my pain, it grew greater.
Where are you my God? My Lord? My Creator?
Am i forsaken? Am i not to be saved?
Am i doomed to eternity in Hell with the depraved?
Then God Himself spoke, His Voice clear as day.
I awaited my instructions; For Him to show me The Way.
“Child, you still have life. You’re not destined to hell”
“This is only a dream. Soon you’ll wake and be well.”
“This fire you feel is A Message I’ve sent”
“You’re losing your soul, no matter your intent”
“I had only One Son. Do not sacrifice yourself”
“Disregarding your feelings Is hurting your health”
“Over and over, you give until it hurts”
“You’re Happy for what’s given, though only given in spurts.”
“You try to please others, though you know in private, they scorn you”
“You see the best in people, even when others may warn you.”
“You make mistakes, but try to righten your wrongs”
“You’ve kept light in your eyes and in your heart you’ve kept song”
“Now look down at the fire, It’s a river of your tears”
“Created from your sorrow, your heartbreak, your fears”
“My child, you’re special. In you, I’ve placed Glory”
“But what you do now, does not belong in your story”
“Express what you feel, But leave when you should”
“Don’t stay in a situation That does you no good”
“Love is meant to be shared, but only as much as you can”
“You’re losing your light To the darkness of this man”
“Serpents aren’t all snakes and they know what to say
To make you feel it’s your fault for you feeling this way”
“So If he breaks your heart
Don’t change the song that you sing”
“It’s his soul that will pay
for the damage he brings.”
