Analysis of Wilt This Wait? (Sonnet IL)
I would thy tongue taste the love I’m missing
Swallowing depths of the passion I long
Above all others this planet wishing
Thou knows the truth for my empty song
I would all my love sleep within thee guide
So thy gorgeous life may live full-flowered
As I would want if I were thee beside
Tasting the sweet mouth my lips devour
And with every hour learn my failing wit
My sullen heart knows thou dost love me still
Live on my love while I wait in secret
Your dreams repeat against thy stubborn will
Wilt thou wait so long a time as this-
And with every minute loose another kiss?
