Analysis of Media
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
The news is loud and boisterous
A constant barrage of information
Buzzing and hounding us
With each breaking story
Concerns and issues
Swirl about us like a hurricane
Climate change, politics, pandemics
All vying for our attention
We try to keep up
But the news is always ahead
Pungent headlines scandalizing our thoughts
Our empathy stretched to its limits
As we pour over images of suffering or turmoil
The world can seem like such a tumultuous place
But we keep fighting to make it better
With charity, protests, and petitions
Our voices lifted in unity
Towards a world less chaotic
Less plagued by injustice
A world that may never be perfect
But one we can all call home.
