Analysis of Sea

The deep and profound blue sea
A world unknown
Weightless I float
Silent, yet full of sound

Bubbles escape my lips
As I dive deeper down
My body adapts and adjusts
To the pressure surrounding me

With each stroke of my arms
I move with grace and ease
Gliding through the water
As if I were a merman

My senses alive
Admiring the beauty
Of the coral reefs
And the radiant fish swimming by

All worries fade away
As I am embraced by the sea
Its serenity bringing me peace
And a sense of freedom

Because in the depths
I am a part of something greater
A world unburdened
By earthly constraints

Joe Strickland

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication. I'm an unpublished fork lift operator by night, and a day drinker by choice. I can be followed on Twitter @JoeStricklandSC more…
