Analysis of New Beginnings

Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)

Each day is a chance to start anew,
Embrace the possibilities that ensue.
Leave behind the past, with all its pain,
And step forward, unburdened, unchained.

New beginnings are like a blank slate,
A chance to rewrite our own fate.
We can choose to be whoever we want,
Create our own dreams, our own haunt.

It's never too late for a fresh start,
To heal old wounds and nurture our heart.
To chase our passions, chase our bliss,
And dance in the rain, in unmitigated bliss.

With new beginnings, anything's attainable,
We just need to be brave and unbreakable.
So let's seize the day with all our might,
And embrace this life with open delight.

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication. I'm an unpublished fork lift operator by night, and a day drinker by choice. I can be followed on Twitter @JoeStricklandSC more…
