Analysis of Water
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
Water, flowing endlessly
Endless depths, forever untold
Its endlessness a reminder
Of how she feels, under loved
A weight on her shoulders
Like a wave crushing her down
Pushing her deeper
Into the murky depths
The current pulls her in
The shore is lost in sight
As she struggles in vain
To swim against the tide
She feels powerless and overwhelmed
As her loved ones stand idly by
Like spectators on the shore
Unsupportive of her struggle
In the vastness of the ocean
She searches for a lifeline
For a friendly face
To remind her she's not alone
And to help her navigate
Through the roughest of seas.
