Analysis of Glimpses Of Pleasure Before Fade

They said nothing lasts forever,
But they only whispered it,
Afraid of the truth echoing back,
Of echoes that linger, refusing to fade.

They fear the longevity of love,
The endurance of passion and joy,
Because in their shallow hearts
Love seems a tempestuous storm,
Crashing and breaking hearts,
Burning them to ash, to dust.

They flee from commitment,
Terrified of promising eternities,
For they fear their own limitations,
The feeble bounds of their affections.

They only desire fleeting moments,
Glimpses of pleasure before fade,
But how can they comprehend
The constancy of love, unwavering?

It frightens them, you see,
To think their hearts could be tethered,
Bound forever to another's soul,
Forever entwined in an eternal dance.

So they whisper their doubts and fears,
Hoping to convince themselves,
That nothing can endure,
But that which is temporal, fleeting.
