Analysis of Dear Summer

I will never forget the way your warm touch felt
And every bright morning we overslept
I'll never forget the fun, laughter, late nights and such
Dear Summer, I miss you so much

The day you left I couldn't breathe
I couldn't believe all the rain and breeze
Couldn't handle my breakdown- thought our bound was so thick
In bed with fever you left me for sick

Maybe I deserved it because I took full advantage
So much you had to offer but I couldn't manage
Took you for granted, yes, that's what I did
Now cold and without you I have got to live

But I'll be ok, after all it's not so bad
I'll always remember the good times that we had
Can't wait for the day you come back again
And for the end...
Much love from me and Autumn - that's my new friend

About this poem

This poem was written out of pure sadness about an ending summer. When the colder days come, it suddenly hits you and you realize summer days are over and all there is left to do is mourn the summer away in reminiscence.
