Analysis of Turtle

A turtle inches its way
Across a lonely road,
Movements deliberate,
Purposeful.
As cars whiz by,
Barely acknowledging
Its existence,
It carries on,
Unfazed by the world's haste.

This turtle,
An allegory for the human spirit,
Resilient and determined
Despite adversity.
Invisible battles fought daily,
Waged within,
Struggles known only
To the individual soul.

We all have this warrior
Within us,
Steadfast in our pursuit
Of a meaningful life.
In the face of hardship,
We surge forward,
Undaunted by the obstacles
That lie ahead.

But often,
The world overlooks our battles,
Focused on the flashy triumphs,
Swift victories.
The quiet resolve
Goes unnoticed,
Yet it remains,
Unyielding and unbroken.

Remember the turtle on the road,
Humble,
Yet embodying
The undying spirit.
It carries the weight
Of struggle,
While the world hurries past,
Ignorant.

In each of us,
This quiet strength resides,
Determined to forge a path,
Never faltering.
Celebrate this fighting spirit within,
Honoring the turtle's journey,
Unspoken
But profound.

About this poem

Recently, I pulled my car over to the side to help a turtle cross to the other side of the road safely. From that this poem was inspired.

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication.
