Analysis of Crush
Meighan Leigh Freiling 1972 (Ohio)
In my mind thoughts of you roam
A storm is brewing beneath a placid dome
Do you ever notice my longing kept at bay?
Ever wonder why I quickly look away?
I wish that I could quiet my desire, my mar
But it only grows as I watch you from afar
I think of how I’d kiss you, your lips against mine
The weight of you upon me, our bodies intertwined
Eagerly I’d kiss you and caress you skin
So often I imagine how it would begin
For now I keep silent unless pressed upon
While in my mind this battle loudly rages on
My heart beats faster and my cheeks flush
It's been a long time since I've had a crush
