Analysis of Saying Goodbye to my eating disorder

You have been here with me for a while.
A while could be days, months, or even years.
But I don't want you here, so why can't you disappear into the dust and never return again.
Living with you in my mind brings turmoil and Foyle.
I don't want these consuming thoughts that keep me at night wondering if I will ever be alright.
You don't deserve to have any of my attention, I have redemption through Jesus.
Thinking of you day and night, controlling me is never right.
I have worked so hard to heal what you have taken from me.
Healing is a journey, and you are no longer welcome here.
You made me feel unworthy, unlovable, and obsession of food and weight became uncontrollable.
But this is your cue to leave because you never really loved me.

About this poem

I wrote this poem not only for myself for a way to heal but to bring awareness for others who are struggling. I don't want others to feel alone. I want people to know that there is redemption and healing through Jesus. It will be a journey, but you will be on the journey with him. People reading this, I want to know that their beauty does not come from reaching society's unrealistic standards. Your beauty is not skin deep, but your beauty is within and how you love and uplift others. Share your struggles because you never know who might need to hear that they are not alone in the feelings, thoughts, and unhealthy behaviors they try to break free from every day.
