Analysis of She Calls Me Sister
Belinda michaud 1965 (United states)
I knew her as my sister,
I thought she was my friend,
thanks to her,
she puts this story to an end.
Like a fairy tale of what my sister
was to me?...
Now she taught me of a sister
who just wasn't meant to be.
She betrayed me in our past,
I had closed the door,
but that didn't last.
There came a day I forgave her,
for our mothers sake,
the whole time,
she was merely
just a fake.
Looking back,...& looking now,
I can hear her call me sister,
& I really don't see how.
Leaving many of scars & a memory of shame...
She calls me sister,
I call her by her name....

This is a poem about my sister & I, a sad but true relationship we shared together until now. I will always love her...but I choose not to call her sister.
