Analysis of Springtime this time?
Troy Kearl 1968 (Utah)
Oh, tender green shoot,
pushing through the cracked and dusty ground.
How many times you have tried to bring life?
Only to be trodden under egoic foot and dancing minstrels or drown with strong drink.
Yet you push forth again and again every spring
with the hope of bearing fruit.
Mortals can not till the soil or water the hard stubborn earth, only the Devine can nourish and cultivate your fragile growth.
Oh tender green shoot,
my wish for you is to become a great tree
that bears fruit for the weary traveler and humble souls to eat.
Oh dear Creator,
please help this little green life become a tree
that it may help others glorify Thee.
Such are the desires of my cracked and desolate heart.
