Analysis of A walk by the seashore
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
A walk by the seashore
Seeking to... finding myself in reflection
In each particle of sand speaking in its own voice
As oceans of air streaming above making love
In sounds merging between every dimension of life
Coming to focus in the prism of our hearts and minds as we are touched by surf and shore
Collectively meeting each particle of water
As we walk together each long kiss forms a new link
Becoming part of the chain holding our dreams
In this quiet place anchored in our memories
Expressed in waves spread out over the horizon
stars in the sky being here on this earth in time
riding shotgun, amidst the armada of stars
We are there too, i am with you even now
As our dreams touch seamlessly as sails
which catch the wind as earth is turned
by a celestial source here we are again
somewhere in heaven where water cycling
kissed by the sun, forms myriad sparkling strands
of molecules dancing in rain through its course
of love in life even when the earth
touched by the sun, moans blissfully
as if participating in a continuous renewal of life
Celebrations which continue long into the night,
As the moon lit by the stars stands out boldly, marking the heavens with bright impressions
Touching deep into our consciousness
Even as we feel in each embrace a higher calling
Holding hands, as songs of heart meet
Dancing dreams, sweet reflections in our eyes
Make passions rise against the background
Of starlight and eternity
Together, we live more passionately
When we share an awareness of all
As the waves dance, touched by the wind
Our footprints dance telling their own story
Of our loving course as passions flow
Reflecting in our emotions
Make impressions in the sand in steps to a love dance, timeless as they are momentary written
into eternity as we laugh beside the stars
Our whole lives may be merely a ripple, in an eddy
In the stream of the universe
Still, we are part of a far greater scene
More than thoughts triggered by our senses
an impression of life like a message in a bottle
cast into an ocean of air
As we walk by the seashore, finding in our reflections of life there are others like us
On this journey in the here now between the stars
We interact spontaneously, it is not by chance
Each time we take another breath, feel another heartbeat, live another life touched by love
In the ever-evolving flow creations expression
Whether you and i believe it or not a wave travelling
As if by grace through this space in time
Whether you find solace, trying to understand
Or are just along for the ride
Yes, soon this all too will pass as quietly
As it came to be cast further than our sense
Of the dimensions of this, our gift
Of life as it was or will be
Adrift into forevermore with the freedom
To be or not to be
