Analysis of Ascending

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

Merging
your smooth
and my rough spots

purging ourselves
of our haves and
have nots

transcending
in our tendencies
to amend or even
disregard... the rules

to blend the best
of our abilities

to reinforce our strengths
at least heighten our resistance

to reduce the possibility
or extent

to suffer unnecessary
abuse

to bridge our weaknesses
in the quest to find our truth

and mend our loose ends
