Analysis of Maybe
I wish I were somebody
that all the world could see
and I was the man
everyone expects me to be
I wish my soul was pure
like that of an angel
and I could find a cure
for all the world’s sickness
I wish I could wake from this nightmare
to be in a perfect world
where everyone was my friend
and I could instill love
in each and everyone
Maybe I could spread peace
like mayonnaise on a slice of bread
and I could breathe life
into the dead
Maybe I could pull the stars
from the night sky
and make your dark days bright
maybe, just maybe,
I could be your eternal light
