Analysis of What's in a NAME

Emma Jones 1950 (New Orleans)

                                 What’s in a NAME?
Great is thy FAME.
Greater is thy NAME.
With Him it’s no GAME.
He’s forever the SAME.
Every name can’t make that CLAIM.
At Calvary JESUS was SLAIN.
He did it with absolutely no SHAME.
Just for us, cause He carried no BLAME.
It was prophesied that He would REIGN.
So He lovingly bore the PAIN.
It was for this purpose He CAME,
For the unsaved and the LAME.
His Blood, just like His NAME,
Can wash away any STAIN.
In this NAME is God’s AIM,
That no one suffers the eternal FLAME.
You are expected to call on His NAME,
Claiming the blessings that He PROCLAIMS.
Only the face of JESUS fits inside the FRAME.
He has the NAME above all NAMES.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because of my gratefulness for the free gift of Salvation that was the product of Jesus' Death and Resurrection. The poem vividly describes what Jesus did at Cavalry and it's effect on HIS people. It does it, uniquely, in rhyme.
